QE are celebrating the achievements of our young people today, as the results of the year’s ‘A’ levels and BTEC qualifications were published.
With the media reporting that nationally pass rate figures were unlikely to show an increase, we are delighted that our A2 results have bucked the national trend and increased again this year, with a 100% pass rate, and a very impressive 82% of grades at C+. We are also delighted to report that 5% of grades were at A*.
Principal, Richard Newton Chance said “We are delighted by the achievement of all our students, and this year we are particularly pleased that our results have held up in the face of increased pressure on exam boards to limit the number of top grades awarded. This is down to the fact that at QE we believe in delivering a quality education, and from that the results will come, rather than trying to teach to the exam. We are delighted that all the hard work our students have put in has paid off so well”.
“There are always some students whose spectacular
performance deserves special mention, and this year there are many. To name just some, Julia Coryton achieved an
amazing 3 A* grades in Art and Design Photography, Fine Art and Law. Hannah Preece achieved 3 A grades and an A*. Justin
Gomme achieved A grades in Chemistry and Further Maths and an A* in Maths. Angus Laurenson achieved 2 A grades in
Psychology and Chemistry and A* in Maths.
Susanna Stephenson achieved 3 grade As and an A* in Geography. Annie Rew Shaw achieved 4 A grades in Music,
Drama English Language and English Literature and we wish her all the very best
as she pursues a promising career in the music industry”.
