At QE we believe that our students are entitled to experience the language and culture of at least one European country; we recognise the importance of preparing them to live and work in a world where countries are linked by trade and tourism and we seek to equip them with the skills to become adaptable and independent learners, able to learn other languages which may be needed in the future.
We encourage our students to visit the countries which they are studying by running study visits and Enrichment Week trips; there is also the chance to form links with French, German and Spanish young people through penfriendships e- mail and video linking.
We are currently developing our KS3 curriculum to build in more choice for our students and piloting new ways of teaching KS4. We hope that these changes help to make our students love languages as much as we do!
